A brief look at the suspended third round of the 94th PGA

Championship on Saturday on The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island:

LEADING: Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh at 6 under. McIlroy

completed nine holes, and Singh finished seven

TRAILING: Adam Scott at 5 under through nine holes.

TIGER TALES: Woods failed to birdie the par-5 second, then

missed a 4-foot birdie putt that unnerved him. Woods made bogeys on

three of his next four holes and faced an 8-foot par putt on No. 8

when play resumes Sunday morning.

ON THE REBOUND: Adam Scott shot a 75 in windy conditions Friday,

then birdied four of the last five holes he played Saturday before

the round was suspended.

MAJOR REPORT: Masters champion Bubba Watson had his lowest round

of the week with a 70. British Open winner Ernie Els shot 73.

Watson was eight shots back. Els was 10 shots behind.

SHOT OF THE DAY: Rory McIlroy finding his ball in a rotted out

tree. He took unplayable lie, yet made par.

RYDER CUP: Don’t count Padraig Harrington out of the Ryder Cup

yet. The Irishman shot a 69 to move five strokes off the lead.

European captain Jose Maria Olazabal said Harrington would have to

do something special to warrant a selection.

KEY STATISTIC: Twenty-six players will return at 7:45 a.m.

Sunday to finish the third round. Players will be grouped in threes

and go off both the first and 10th tees in the fourth round.

NOTEWORTHY: Vijay Singh shot the only round in the 60s in

Friday’s second round. There have already been seven sub-70 rounds

in the suspended third round. .

QUOTEWORTHY: ”I did what I could do and I’m sure before I go to

bed tonight I’ll know kind of where I stand going into tomorrow and
