McDowell happy with form on eve of US Open defense
U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell says his game is ”firing on
all cylinders” as he prepares to defend his title, describing the
10-over 81 he shot at the Wales Open as an ”anomaly.”
McDowell, the Wales Open defending champion, improved by 10
strokes on his third-round score to finish at 3-over 287 at Celtic
Manor on Sunday.
The Northern Irishman says ”I’m not disturbed about my game in
any shape or form. Game is in good shape,” but acknowledges he
”lost the feel” in his swing on Saturday when he dropped from one
shot off the lead to 11 strokes back.
The U.S. Open will be staged at Washington’s Congressional
course from June 16-19.
