Ishikawa wins Taiheiyo Masters for third title

Japanese teenager Ryo Ishikawa won the Taiheiyo Masters on

Sunday after shooting a 5-under 67 to hold off Australian Brendan

Jones, who sank an eagle putt on the last hole.

The 19-year-old Ishikawa carded seven birdies against two bogeys

at the Taiheiyo Club’s Gotemba Course to finish at 14-under 274.

Jones was two shots back after also shooting a 67.

It was Ishikawa’s third win of the season on the Japanese

tour.

Jones, who won this event in 2007, pulled to within one stroke

of Ishikawa when he made a 30-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th.

But Ishikawa birdied the final hole to secure the win.
