Kyle Teaf helps lead South Florida past Florida Atlantic in NCAA Regional

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Kyle Teaf had two triples and two RBIs, leading South Florida to a 5-3 victory against Florida Atlantic on Friday in the Gainesville Regional.

The Bulls advanced to face the winner of the game between fourth-seeded Florida and Florida A&M on Saturday in the NCAA Tournament.

USF right-hander Jimmy Herget (10-3) allowed three runs, nine hits and struck out four batters in seven innings.

The Bulls’ (34-24-1) rallied from a 2-1 deficit with a strong offensive showing. Four USF batters recorded at least two hits and the team hit .308.

FAU right-hander Drew Jackson (6-4) was pulled in the fifth inning after giving up four runs and seven hits.

Billy Endris had two hits, but the Owls (40-18) went .281 as a team.
