MIAMI -- FOX Sports Florida, the statewide television home of the Miami Marlins, announced Paul Severino has joined its roster of Marlins on-air talent for the 2018 season. In his new role, Severino will serve as the play-by-play announcer, alongside color analyst Todd Hollandsworth, in the broadcast booth. Severino comes to FOX Sports Florida from MLB Network, where he served as play-by-play announcer for MLB Network game telecasts, including MLB Network Showcase and the World Baseball Classic. Since 2011, he’s hosted every studio show in MLB Network’s lineup, highlighted by the Emmy Award-winning “MLB Tonight” and the daily “The Rundown.”

“I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to live out my dream as the voice of a Major League team,” Severino said. “I’m grateful to FOX Sports Florida for affording me this wonderful opportunity. As the Marlins build toward a level of sustained success, I’m thrilled to be able to have the best seat in the house and, along with Todd Hollandsworth and our production team, bring the fans closer to this promising young club. I’m looking forward to making Miami my home and becoming a part of the Marlins baseball community year round."

The Severino – Hollandsworth broadcast booth will call every Marlins game televised on FOX Sports Florida, in addition to Marlins Live host Craig Minervini, reporter Jessica Blaylock and Marlins Live analyst Jeff Nelson returning in their roles.

Severino’s broadcast experience extends beyond the diamond having most recently served as play-by-play announcer for 2018 IIHF World Junior Hockey tournament in Buffalo, New York. Severino also spent time as a studio host on NHL Network and as a host on sports talk radio shows on TuneIn Radio. Prior to MLB Network, Severino served as an anchor and host across ESPN's programming. His roles included anchoring ESPNews and “SportsCenter,” as well as hosting “Fantasy Focus” on ESPN.com and halftime shows for college football games on ESPN3.com.
