Miami, Florida Atlantic to play on national television Sept. 11

The Hurricanes and Owls will face off will be played on Florida Atlantic's turn this season.

A Sunshine State showdown between the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University will entertain a national audience this fall. FOX Sports 1 picked up the matchup, which is slated for 8 p.m. on Sept. 11 at FAU Stadium.

The Hurricanes and Owls have faced each other just one other time, when UM beat FAU 34-6 in 2013 at Sun Life Stadium.

Miami opens its 2015 season at home on Sept. 5 against Bethune-Cookman. The Hurricanes went 6-7 in 2014 after losing to South Carolina in the Duck Commander Independence Bowl. The Owls finished 3-9 in head coach Charlie Patridge’s first year.
