Lightning leave on college-themed road trip to Canada

The Tampa Bay Lightning left for a four-game road trip in Canada wearing their old college and junior hockey jerseys.

The Tampa Bay Lightning turned back the clock on Monday as they embarked on their four-game Canadian road trip.

Players wore their college and junior team jerseys for their flight to Vancouver. Schools represented were Harvard, Vermont, Maine and Minnesota Duluth.

The Lightning, second in the Eastern Conference with 50 points, have lost two in a row following a five-game win streak.

Tampa Bay’s MLB baseball team, the Rays, often do themed road trips under manager Joe Maddon. Past themes included accidental preppy, all white and camouflage.
