Treasure Coast-Vero Beach to air live on FOX Sports Florida via Prep Zone

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — On Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m., FOX Sports Florida will be featuring the regional battle between Treasure Coast and host Vero Beach High School live on the network via Prep Zone, presented by Checkers and Cleveland Clinic Florida. The game will be televised live in North / Central Florida on FOX Sports Florida, while in South Florida, the game will air on tape delay upon conclusion of the Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres game. Jim Lightall will call the game, alongside color commentator Troy Stradford, and Amy Campbell will be reporting from the sidelines at the Citrus Bowl.

The game will also stream live on FOXSportsFlorida.com.

The Indians (6-0, 1-0 in district play) are off to another strong start despite the fact they returned just seven starters from last year’s 9-2 squad. Vero Beach is led by an explosive offensive attack that’s averaging 41.8 points per game and features one of the state’s most potent combinations in 6-foot-2, 188-pound senior quarterback Carter Stanley (64.4 percent completion rate, 1,398 yards, 21 touchdowns, 2 interceptions) and 5-foot-8, 175-pound junior wide receiver M.J. McGriff (53 catches, 734 yards, 14 touchdowns). Up front, the Indians boast a rugged line led by 6-foot-4, 325-pound tackle Reche Thomas (Purdue, South Florida). On the defensive side of the ball, Vero Beach boasts a balanced unit featuring 6-foot-2, 231-pound junior defensive end Patrick Bethel (Arkansas, Florida, Miami), 6-foot-3, 200-pound senior linebacker Tyler Horstman (Rutgers, Wake Forest) and 6-foot-1, 190-pound senior defensive back Antonio Jones-Davis (Illinois, Tennessee State). Meanwhile, the Titans (0-5, 0-1) have struggled during a transition season under Head Coach Irwin Jones, but do boast a core of developing talent, led by junior quarterback Anthony Bailey.

"We love it when FOX Sports comes to town," said Vero Beach High School Athletic Director and Head Coach Lenny Jankowski. "It brings extra excitement to our games, the fans will be pumped and it provides great exposure for our athletes and community."

FOX Sports Florida Night will feature on-site giveaways courtesy of Checkers, as well as the FOX Sports Florida Girls meeting and greeting fans in attendance.

"The Citrus Bowl is a great venue and the entire Vero Beach community supports this school in a big way," said Stephen Grecsek of OUR TEAM. "We are delighted to be part of FOX Sports Florida Night at the Citrus Bowl."

The broadcast will also feature a special tribute, which in conjunction with the County Commission of Indian River County’s proclamation of October 17th as Erdheim-Chester Disease Research & Awareness Day, will help spotlight two local individuals battling the disease.
