FOX Sports Florida, Prep Zone Game of the Week: Miami Norland at University School

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — FOX Sports Florida announced Thursday that it will be featuring the University School vs. Miami Norland game on via Prep Zone, presented by Checkers. Ed Berliner will call the games, alongside color commentator Keith Sims, and Kavita Channe will be reporting from the sidelines.

On Saturday, September 7, at 7 p.m., Prep Zone will be in Broward County for a matchup between visiting Miami Norland and University School. The Vikings (0-1) opened their season with a 29-6 loss at Stephenson (Georgia). Norland does return nine starters on offense, led by 5-foot-10, 215-pound bruising senior running back La’Keith Stafford and 6-foot-5, 205-pound junior wide receiver Kendrick Edwards (Arkansas, Florida State, South Carolina).

Defensively, the Vikings rely on a top notch linebacking corps, headed up by seniors Dreshawn Dean and Official Coffey. The host Suns (1-0), the defending Class 3A state champions, started their inaugural 4A season with an easy 54-14 win over Taravella. University’s offense got a big boost with the arrival of 6-foot-2, 200-pound transfer quarterback Sean White (Auburn). White, who played at Chaminade-Madonna last season, has a collection of top targets, including senior receivers Emmanuel Soto (Air Force) and Chris Taylor (Duke), and senior running back Lajuan Hunt (Air Force). On the defensive side of the ball, the Suns will be breaking in a handful of new starters, but return a collection of stalwarts, led by 6-foot-2, 195-pound senior defensive back Quincy Wilson (Florida) and 6-foot-3, 216-pound senior linebacker Richard Yeargin (Notre Dame).

Stephen Grecsek of OUR TEAM says, “We love coming to University School and showcasing the exceptional talent that South Florida has to offer. We’d like to give a special thank you to FOX Sports Florida for making the game available around the country and to Checkers, once again, for their loyalty and sponsorship.”
