Panthers recall D Alex Petrovic from AHL affiliate

Defenseman Alex Petrovic has appeared in 13 NHL games over parts of the last two seasons with Florida.

SUNRISE, Fla. — The Florida Panthers have recalled defenseman Alex Petrovic from their American Hockey League affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage, the team announced Wednesday.

Petrovic, 22, has recorded three goals and 19 points in 39 games for the Rampage this season. He was recently named to the 2015 AHL All-Star Game in Utica, New York, where he recorded two assists for the Western Conference.

A second-round pick, 36th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft, Petrovic has appeared in 13 NHL games over parts of the last two seasons with Florida, recording one assist and 33 penalty minutes.

Florida has allowed 22 goals during their current five-game losing streak.
