Panthers reassign D Shane O’Brien to AHL affiliate

SUNRISE, Fla. — The Florida Panthers have reassigned defenseman Shane O’Brien to the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), the team announced Thursday.

O’Brien, 31, has appeared in four games with the Panthers this season, recording one assist while averaging 12:23 of ice time.

A native of Port Hope, Ontario, O’Brien has played in 532 career National Hockey League games split between Florida, Calgary, Colorado, Nashville, Vancouver, Tampa Bay and Anaheim, registering 13 goals with 79 assists and 911 penalty minutes. 

Signed to a one-year, two-way contract in the offseason, O’Brien has recorded six goals and 14 points in 22 games with San Antonio this season.
