Ryan Fowler – Fantasy Editor

Cardinals (+7.5) over Ravens

What happened last week against the Steelers was a fluke. The best thing that happened to the Steelers was Mike Vick leaving the game and Landry Jones doing work with Maravis Bryant the rest of the game. Arizona is at home and has one of the most balanced, if not thee most balanced, squads in the NFL. On the flip side the Ravens defense is a shell of its former self. They’ve performed poorly on the road and Steve Smith will finally face a high-quality cornerback to slow him down. Arizona in a rout.

Steelers (+1.5) over Chiefs

Pittsburgh’s defense has been flying under the radar as one of the league’s best. After allowing 28 points to the Patriots in Week 1, the Steelers defense hasn’t allowed more than 20 points in any one game since.

The Chiefs offense stinks and their pass defense is among the league’s worst. This opens the door for Landry Jones – with a full week of first-team reps – to pick up right where he left off in Week 6. If the passing game doesn’t click in Kansas City, he always has Le’Veon Bell as a 25-touch per game options. Steelers get the road win.

Panthers (-3) over Eagles

Steelers (+1.5) over Chiefs

In WhatIfSports.com’s Week 7 NFL predictions, Landry Jones got the start for the Steelers despite Ben Roethlisberger supposedly inching closer to a return. Even with an inexperienced quarterback at the helm, the Steelers were the pick in 67.6 percent of simulations. In Week 6’s relief of Michael Vick, Jones tossed for 168 yards and two touchdowns on 8-for-12 passing and engineered four consecutive scoring drives. Our sim engine is confident that Jones can lead the 4-2 Steelers over the favored 1-5 Chiefs this Sunday. View the box score.

Browns (+5.5) cover against Rams

Can the Browns upset the Rams this week? Our simulation engine doesn’t think so. But it does predict the Browns to make things interesting. In 501 simulations, Cleveland won 49.5 percent of contests, with an average score of 25-24 in favor of St. Louis. Given the nature of the Browns’ last three games – a 30-27 loss at San Diego, a 33-30 OT win at Baltimore and a 26-23 OT loss at home to Denver – a close game seems like a perfectly reasonable prediction. We think the Browns will have no problem playing the Rams tight. View the box score.

Falcons (-4.5) over Titans

Atlanta suffered its first defeat in Week 6, falling to the Saints by 10. The outcome may have tempered expectations for the Falcons, as the team is favored by just 4.5 points against the 1-4 Titans. Among Tennessee’s challenges will be overcoming an injury to Marcus Mariota. Zach Mettenberger will get the start after attempting just eight passing in 2015. We’re predicting Atlanta to cruise in this one, winning 76.8 percent of simulations by an average score of 30-20. View the box score.
