Today’s post will be a short one, as not much happened on Tuesday outside of the All-Star Game – otherwise known as the night Adam Wainwright learned that you should never tell anyone when you intentionally serve up a very hittable pitch.

News & notes

Braves C Evan Gattis (back) is scheduled to begin a minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Gattis is expected to play in three or four rehab games, so we could be looking at a Monday reactivation.

Reds’ closer Aroldis Chapman tweaked a hamstring during his All-Star appearance, but he expects to be ready when the season resumes on Friday.

It sounds like Danny Salazar will rejoin the Indians’ rotation on either Saturday or Tuesday.

Rangers C Geovany Soto (knee) could come off the DL as soon as this weekend. Teammate Derek Holland (knee) probably won’t return to the rotation until late August at the earliest.

Here’s a link to Friday’s probable starters, in case you’d like to set your lineup nice and early.

See! I told you today’s post would be short. See you back here tomorrow morning. Send me a tweet (@jhalpin37) if you have any questions before then.
