Lions re-sign veteran long snapper Don Muhlbach

Don Muhlbach, a Pro Bowler in 2013, has played in 164 games with the Lions, tied for 13th-most in team history.

The Detroit Lions’ Mr. Reliable, longer snapper Don Muhlbach, is returning for his 12th NFL season.

The Lions announced Friday that they have re-signed Muhlbach, 33, to a one-year contract.

Muhlbach, a Pro Bowler in 2013, has played in 164 games with the Lions, tied for 13th-most in team history. His consistently accurate snaps are a big plus for the Lions’ special-teams units.
