Lions’ Fairley inactive against Cowboys

ARLINGTON, Texas — Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley is officially inactive for Sunday’s playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fairley, who returned to practice last week on a limited basis, will miss his ninth consecutive game because of a knee injury.

The Lions also officially confirmed that rookie Travis Swanson will start at right guard in place of Larry Warford, who is out with a knee injury.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, will be without right tackle Doug Free (ankle).

If the Lions win, they will advance to the divisional round to play the Super Bowl champion Seahawks on Saturday in Seattle.
