Chris Osgood: Just playing the game as it comes. They aren’t really thinking about being in overtime or what game it is, you are trying to stop the next shot. Most goalies now shrink the game down to their next shift. They don’t look that far ahead. They just play in the moment.

Osgood: I thought they could go far at the start of the year. They can’t just rely on Pav and Hank. They are going to need some support from the bottom six. I think they will get to the first or second round.

Osgood: I’ve been more impressed with the young defensemen and sophomore forwards, Smith, DeKeyser — they’ve taken the next step. They’re performing great. Smith has been playing really good as well as DeKeyser. That’s the key to their success — they don’t really have to look for another defenseman. It’s not a necessity. They are playing really well, and if they continue to play like this, they won’t need another defenseman.
