At the plate: The Angels sent 11 men to the plate in the second inning and scored six runs on six hits off Cubs starter Randy Wells. The big hits were by Kendry Morales, who opened the inning with a solo home run to right field, and Howie Kendrick, who hit a two-run triple to right-center. Hideki Matsui also drove in his first run of the spring with a single.


On the mound: Starter Joel Pineiro gave up four hits in the first inning, including Kevin Millar’s RBI double and Marlon Byrd’s RBI single, and Millar tagged Pineiro for a two-run homer in the third.
