The International Cycling Union says Mondory tested positive for the banned blood-boosting hormone in an out-of-competition sample taken on Feb. 17. The 32-year rider faces a disciplinary hearing, possibly heard by the governing body’s new anti-doping tribunal. Article continues below ... The UCI says Mondory ”has the right to request and attend the analysis of the `B’ sample.” Mondory has no major race wins in his 11-year career with the Ag2r-La Mondiale team. Mondory’s case was announced on Tuesday, one day after UCI President Brian Cookson acknowledged ”lower-level doping” was still endemic in the sport.
