Sri Lanka makes 305-5 vs. England in rain-shortened 4th ODI

LONDON (AP) Sri Lanka put up its best batting performance of the one-day series to score 305-5 off 42 overs in the rain-shortened fourth one-day international against England on Wednesday.

Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal and captain Angelo Mathews all made half-centuries after the Sri Lankans were put in to bat at the Oval.

A 128-run stand for the second wicket between Gunathilaka and Mendis set up the Sri Lankan innings after it was 8-1 following the early run out of Kusal Perera to a direct hit by Jonny Bairstow.

Mendis made 77 and Gunathilaka 62. Mathews finished 67 not out for his third half-century in four innings this series.

Adil Rashid and David Willey took two wickets each for England, which leads the five-match series 1-0.
