Pakistan wins toss and bowls in 2nd test vs. New Zealand
HAMILTON, New Zealand (AP) New Pakistan captain Azhar Ali won the toss and chose to bowl Friday in the second cricket test against New Zealand at Seddon Park.
Azhar is leading Pakistan in a test for the first time, taking over temporarily from Misbah-ul-Haq who has returned home because of a family illness. He becomes Pakistan's 31st test captain.
Mohammad Rizwan takes Misbah's place in a Pakistan lineup which includes four seam bowlers. Spinner Yasir Shah has been omitted, and left-armer Wahab Riaz and right-armer Imran Khan join the attack.
Fast bowler Trent Boult was ruled out of the New Zealand lineup with a minor injury and has been replaced by Matt Henry while allrounder Mitchell Santner replaces Todd Astle.
The toss was delayed for 15 minutes because of drizzle and rain is forecast throughout the day.
New Zealand leads the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first test in Christchurch by eight wickets.
