England calls up Plunkett following Broad injury

England has called up Durham bowler Liam Plunkett for its first two one-day internationals against South Africa following an injury to allrounder Stuart Broad.

Broad missed Tuesday’s warmup match against South Africa ‘A’ because of a shoulder injury.

Paul Collingwood missed England‘s second Twenty20 match with a recurrence of a long-standing back problem, spinner Graeme Swann has a chest muscle injury and pace bowler and James Anderson has a knee injury.

England plays the first of its five one-day matches against South Africa in Johannesburg on Friday.

The teams tied a Twenty20 series 1-1 and will also play four test matches.
