Bangladesh wins toss, bats in 1st T20 vs. New Zealand

NAPIER, New Zealand (AP) Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat Tuesday in the first of three Twenty20 internationals against New Zealand at McLean Park.

New Zealand named three players to make their Twenty20 international debuts: batsman Tom Bruce, allrounder Ben Wheeler and fast bowler Lockie Ferguson who already this season has played one-day internationals against Australia and Bangladesh.

Bangladesh, after losing the one-day international series 3-0, named fast bowler Rubel Hossain and batting allrounder Soumya Sarkar while retaining the out-of-form Mahmdullah.

New Zealand: Neil Broom, Kane Williamson (captain), Corey Anderson, Colin Munro, Tom Bruce, Colin de Grandhomme, Luke Ronchi, Mitchell Santner, Ben Wheeler, Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson.
