Three weeks ago, Badgers running back Corey Clement underwent sports hernia surgery.

He is desperate to get on the field and help his team but his status for Saturday's game against Illinois still up in the air at this point. He is however, speaking to the media and did so on Tuesday. Here is what he had to say about his recovery per ESPN:

“I think it's 50-50 mental and physical with how I feel,” Clement said. “I think those two go hand-in-hand. I can only go out each day and try to perform at my best. If I feel some aches here and there, I know it's part of the surgical process. I'm not going to feel 100 percent just like that. I've got to take that into consideration and just try to build upon each day and be happy with some of the progress I'm making.”

Clement was medically cleared to practice last week so Badgers fans may not have to wait much longer to see the stud running back on the gridiron
