Washington head coach Chris Petersen has announced the hiring of Ikaika Malloe as the Huskies new defensive line coach. Malloe replaces Jeff Choate, who is now the head coach at Montana State.

Malloe has spent the past two seasons as the defensive line coach at Utah State. Malloe played defensive back for the Huskies from 1993-96. He started 11 games in 1995 and had a team-high five interceptions during that season for Washington.

He began his coaching career at Washington as a program coordinator and graduate assistant in the late 1990's. He was also the defensive coordinator at Yale from 2009-11 and the special teams coordinator at Portland State.
