Darrisaw is the third offensive lineman to verbally commit to the Hokies as part of their 2017 recruiting class, following commitments from Silas Dzansi from the prep school, Fork Union Military Academy, and three-star prospect Aiden Brown from the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, who committed to the Hokies back in July.
Darrisaw received interest from Connecticut, Purdue, UMass, Rutgers, Wake Forest, and a host of FCS-schools throughout his recruiting process, but Virginia Tech was his only FBS offer, according to 247 Sports.

He is listed as an unranked prospect by the aforementioned recruiting service, as well as multiple other outlets, but has decent size and could potentially factor into the mix at an interior line position at some point down the line.
Darrisaw is the 17th member of the 2017 recruiting class (16 commits, 1 prep transfer) to verbally commit to Virginia Tech, and the Hokies have the nation’s 37th-ranked class according to ESPN, and the 31st-ranked class according to 247 Sports.
At the present juncture, the Hokies remain in the race for a host of four-star offensive lineman, including Plantation, Florida native Tedarrell Slaton, IMG Academy’s Cesar Ruiz, and Loganville, Georgia product Tony Gray, just to name a few.

For the 2017 recruiting class as a whole, the Hokies’ top prospect across all recruiting services remains wide receiver Tahj Capehart from Bishop Sullivan High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The 5’10” speedster committed to the school back in August over Notre Dame, North Carolina, and Ohio State.
