VMI to face FBS pair, host five

(STATS) - VMI will play two FBS opponents for the first time since 2010 as part of an 11-game 2018 schedule, announced Tuesday.

The Keydets will open the campaign at Toledo (Sept. 1) and close it at Old Dominion (Nov. 17).

They'll also play their earliest Southern Conference opener in 20 years when they travel to Wofford on Sept. 8 and will host five opponents - conference foes ETSU (Sept. 15), Mercer (Sept. 29), The Citadel (Oct. 20) and Furman (Nov. 10) as well as Tusculum (Nov. 3).

VMI finished 0-11 last season. Coach Scott Wachenheim is 5-28 through three seasons.
