USM’s leading rusher out for East Carolina game
Southern Miss football coach Larry Fedora has announced that
running back Desmond Johnson has been suspended for Saturday’s
Conference USA showdown against East Carolina.
In a statement from the school, Fedora says Johnson was
suspended for a ”violation of team policy.”
Johnson, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound sophomore, leads the Golden
Eagles with 296 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He’s also
caught a team high 14 passes.
Southern Miss (4-1, 1-0) hosts East Carolina (2-2, 2-0) at 6:30
p.m. on Saturday at Roberts Stadium.
