USF Football: LaDarrius Jackson accused of second sexual assault in a month

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 2:24 p.m. ET

University of South Florida football player, LaDarrius Jackson has been accused of a second sexual assault in a month.

According to multiple outlets, USF defensive end LaDarrius Jackson was accused of sexual assault on Wednesday. This comes after being accused of a prior sexual assault on May 1.

The accusations are the exact same and in each case. He's reportedly accused of false imprisonment and sexual battery. After the announcement of his second arrest, USF announced that he was now off of their football team.

Jackson's first arrest came on May first for a charge resulting from an event that happened sometime in March. His first appearance in court was just last week and included the judge, who was a USF alum, telling Jackson she was ashamed to be from the same school.

One thing to note is that the judge didn't stop with Jackson. Judge Taylor also questioned the control head coach Charlie Strong has over his team. This isn't the kind of attention the new Bulls head coach is wanting to draw.

After the hearing, a video of Taylor's comments went viral and led to her recusing herself from Jackson's case. Regardless if she stepped out of her role, her comments and questioning of Strong are already spreading among football fans everywhere.

One thing to note is that it's not just fans who are seeing the video but I'm sure it has gotten the attention of the NCAA. You can expect this story to get a lot of attention as the case goes on. For now, however, Strong seems to be safe in his position.
