USC OT Zach Banner Accepts Invitation To 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl

USC offensive tackle Zach Banner has accepted an invitation to the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl, the redshirt senior announced on Twitter on Monday.

For the third season in a row, USC will have a representative in the Reese’s Senior Bowl, as right tackle Zach Banner accepted an invitation to the showcase game.

The All-American offensive lineman took to Twitter to announce his participation, though the Senior Bowl has not officially revealed him on their roster.

“I got your personal invite letter to the @senior bowl and I proudly accept,” Banner wrote. “I’ll see you in Mobile!”

Banner had the opportunity to leave USC early for the NFL last season but opted to return for his redshirt senior season. He was rewarded with an All-American nod to go along with All-Pac-12 first team honors at right tackle.

At an athletic 6-foot-9, 360 pounds, Banner is an interesting prospect for the NFL. CBS Sports lists him as a potential third round pick as the fifth offensive guard on the board.

The Senior Bowl will give him the opportunity to impress scouts ahead of the NFL Combine.

He will be the 86th Trojan to participate in the Senior Bowl.

From 1994 to 2010 USC had a player represented at every Senior Bowl.

Last year, Cody Kessler and Soma Vainuku accepted invitations while Hayes Pullard and Josh Shaw participated in 2014. USC had nine players participate in 2007.
