Stanford coach David Shaw says UCLA RB Paul Perkins will be NFL star
The whole country was sleeping on Paul Perkins heading into this season. But with recent stellar play, he's beginning to garner national attention.
The reigning Pac-12 rushing champion lets his play do the talking. He set career highs vs. BYU with 26 carries and 219 yards. His mark was the most impressive by a UCLA running back since 2001, when Maurice Jones-Drew ran for 322 yards. Perkins also had 3 rushing TD's in the first half vs. U of A on Saturday.
“He’s one of those unsung guys that, years from now, you’re going to look up and he’s going to be in the NFL for five, six, seven years and doing extremely well,” said Stanford head coach David Shaw, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.
