TCU co-offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie has decided to remain with the Horned Frogs and not join the Texas Longhorns as offensive coordinator.
According to multiple reports, Cumbie had interest in the Longhorns' offer to become offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, but ultimately decided to return to coach Gary Patterson's staff where he shares coordinator duties with Doug Meacham. The Texas offer was reportedly worth near $1 million a season.
Cumbie met with Strong on Sunday and Monday. On Wednesday, according to a report, Strong is interviewing Tulsa offensive coordinator Sterlin Gilbert.
