Charlie Strong: Texas QB David Ash out indefinitely with head injury

Texas coach Charlie Strong announced on Monday that quarterback David Ash is "out indefinitely" with what’s presumed to be another concussion.

Following Texas’ Week 1 game against North Texas, Ash reported headaches and dizziness — symptoms associated with concussions — to the Longhorns training staff.

He was immediately ruled out of last weekend’s game against BYU.

Ash has had an extensive history of concussions and missed the last nine games of the 2013 season with the injury.

”You have to be concerned, any time you have that number of concussions," Strong said last week. "We will never jeopardize a young man’s health for the sake of this football team. That will always be the case."

This latest injury puts Ash’s football future in doubt. Asked last week whether Ash should give up football for good, Strong said, "That’s a decision his family is going to have to make."
