Tennessee football head coach Butch Jones said the Vols are want recruits with ‘five-star hearts.’ Volunteers fans didn’t take long to troll him on Twitter.
It’s like Butch Jones is just screwing with Tennessee football fans at this point. After his recruiting class on National Signing Day did not have the star power Vols fans wanted, the head coach of cliches provided a new explanation.
And it was another cliche.

Jones said they were looking for something beyond five-star talent.
“We’ve spoken about the competitive nature, and I think that’s really, really big in today’s world. Everyone gets into the whole two-star, three-star, four-star, five-star thing. The only five-star that we even concern ourselves with is a five-star heart.
We want five-star hearts and five-star competitors.”
Of course, this follows his cheesy ‘Champions of Life’ comment from back in November.
At least his cliches early on were creative, such as ‘brick by brick’ and ‘one percent better at a time.’
These last two are just awful. Jones is still a solid coach and deserves another year to prove he can take the next step, but we have to have a little fun with his idiotic cliche first. Here’s how Twitter reacted to the cheesy comments.
