Quarterback dismissed for violating team rules

Missouri State quarterback Trevor Wooden, who led the Missouri

Valley Football Conference in total offense last season, has been

dismissed from the team for violating unspecified team rules.

Coach Terry Allen said Thursday that it was a difficult decision

made in the best interest of the program.

Wooden, of High Springs, Fla., was suspended for the opener

against Arkansas last year for a separate violation of team rules.

He produced 2,420 yards in total offense his lone season as starter

as a sophomore after starting 10 games at wide receiver as a

redshirt freshman the previous year.

The dismissal leaves the school with two scholarship

quarterbacks, sophomore Kierra Harris of Texarkana, Ark., and

freshman Brodie Lambert of Arlington, Texas.
