WHAT'S AT STAKE?

Oklahoma is going for its fourth Big 12 title in a row, and maybe its third College Football Playoff appearance. The Sooners can avenge their only loss, in the Red River rivalry game at the State Fair of Texas eight weeks ago. The Longhorns will try to win their first league championship since 2009, when they were the last Big 12 team to play for a national championship.

KEY MATCHUP

Sooners dual-threat QB Kyler Murray, the Big 12's most efficient passer (306 yards per game, 37 TDs, seven interceptions) and seventh-best rusher (71 yards per game, 11 TDs), against the Texas defense. Murray had 396 total yards and five TDs in the first meeting. He also had two turnovers before a 21-point tying spurt in less than six minutes late, including his 67-yard TD run

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Texas: Sophomore QB Sam Ehlinger has 2,774 yards passing and 23 TDs, plus 11 rushing scores. His four interceptions came in the opener and regular season finale. In between, he set a Big 12 record with 308 consecutive passes without a pick.

Oklahoma: WR Marquise Brown had 11 catches for 243 yards and two TDs in the regular season finale. He's eighth nationally with 105 yards receiving a game, and has 14 catches of at least 50 yards since the start of last season.

The last five games between Texas and Oklahoma have been decided by a combined 25 points — five points a game. ... Both teams had more than 500 total yards on Oct. 6, when Texas won 48-45, the highest-scoring game in the series. ...
