The Irish are looking for a play-maker with elite speed in the class of ’18.

Brian Kelly made it clear during the press conference on Jan. 30 that the Irish are looking to add elite speed and play making ability to their WR core.
On Feb. 8, Notre Dame sought to bring in that type of player by extending an offer to 4 star receiver Shaquon Anderson-Butts of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Anderson Butts reeled in 38 receptions for almost 800 yards on his way to a Pennsylvania State Championship in 5A ball for Harrisburg High School.
Anderson-Butts holds offers from Penn State, Virgina Tech, Louisville, Oregon and many others.
Many people in the recruiting world expect him to blow up nation wide on the recruiting trail.
I caught up with Shaquon Anderson-Butts and asked him some question regarding his offer to Notre Dame.
“I feel good about the offer from Notre Dame. It is great to pick up an offer from a school like that and I can’t wait to visit…for the spring game,” Shaquon explained
I asked Anderson-Butts if he had been hearing from the Notre Dame staff and how that has been going?
“I’ve been in contact with the new WR coach (DelVaughn Alexander) and we talk, like, two times a week. They said I’m a big time receiver and they really want me to join (them).”
“I’m hearing from a lot of schools right now.”
As all of Notre Dame’s recruits I have spoken to have said, ’18 RB commit Markese Stepp is pushing Anderson-Butts toward committing to Notre Dame as well.
On film, you can see why the Notre Dame staff are so excited about this kid. He runs excellent vertical routes and blows past defenders with his elite speed.
He catches the ball with ease and shows great play making ability with the ball in his hands. I believe he would be a great fit at the W receiver position for the Irish. His speed and deep threat ability would get a warm welcome from the coaching staff.
With only one true wide receiver commit in the ’17 class, expect Notre Dame to target several more receivers.
Staff has all ready extended many offers to talented pass catchers including Amon-Ra St. Brown, Brian Hightower, Micah Jones, Joshua Moore, Jahan Dotson, Kevin Austin, Braden Lenzy and a few more.
