Montana 30, Portland St. 24

Jordan Canada ran for 159 yards and a touchdown Saturday to lead

Montana to 30-24 win over Portland State.

The Grizzlies (5-2, 3-1 Big Sky) rallied from a 11-point

halftime deficit, starting with Canada’s touchdown to cut Portland

State’s lead to 21-16 midway through the third quarter.

The Vikings (3-3, 2-2) dominated the first half with two field

goals by Zach Brown and touchdown runs by Connor Kavanaugh and Cory

McCaffrey.

Montana got on the board in the second quarter with a short

scoring run by Jordan Johnson and a field goal by Brody

McKnight.

After Canada’s score, Dan Moore added a touchdown run for the

Grizzlies and McKnight iced the game in the fourth quarter with a

pair of field goals.

The Vikings’ final attempt to win came ended when Houston Roots

snagged an interception with less than a minute left.

Brown finished with three field goals.
