Due to a strong start to his redshirt sophomore campaign, Missouri defensive end Charles Harris has been added to the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch list. The award is annually given to the nation’s best defensive player.

The Kansas City native has truly blossomed from a player with upside into a bonafide NFL prospect. Harris is second on the team with 4.0 sacks, and leads the team in tackles for loss (11.5) and quarterback hurries (4).

Credit defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski for developing the fantastic athlete. Harris didn’t grow up following the sport, and was more of a basketball player before transitioning to football during high school.
