Mississippi Valley State promotes Dancy to football coach

(STATS) – Mississippi Valley State removed the interim tag from Vincent Dancy’s title and named him the school’s 17th head football coach on Tuesday.

Dancy, 33, served as MVSU’s defensive coordinator the last three seasons and was appointed to the interim role late last month after the SWAC school said it would not renew Rick Comegy’s contract. Comegy was 6-38 in four seasons.

Dancy, a native of Shuqualak, Mississippi, also has been an assistant coach at his alma mater, Jackson State, and Paine College.
