Dak Prescott returned for his senior season at Mississippi State to polish his skills in the pocket and continue to develop his accuracy throwing the ball. Adding his name to the SEC record books is just an added bonus.
With his second touchdown pass Saturday against Louisiana Tech, Prescott became only the third quarterback in the history of the SEC to throw for at least 50 touchdowns and rush for another 30 touchdowns. The only other players to accomplish that feat in SEC history? Tim Tebow and Johnny Manziel.
That wasn’t the only record Prescott set Saturday, as he also passed Manziel in career rushing yards and is now fourth in all-time rushing yards by a quarterback in SEC history. Manziel accumulated 2,190 rushing yards in his career with Texas A&M.
