Jerry Kill retiring from Golden Gophers immediately due to health concerns
Early Wednesday morning, Minnesota announced head coach Jerry Kill is retiring effective immediately due to health concerns.
Coach Kill announced today that he is retiring effective immediately due to health reasons. Tracy Claeys has been named interim head coach.

Kill is leaving college football with a record of 29-29 at Minnesota. He will be credited with reviving a Minnesota football program that went to a Jan. 1 bowl game for the first time since 1962.
Interim Athletics Director Beth Goetz named Tracy Claeys Tracy Claeys interim head coach. Claeys has worked with Kill for 21 years.
