MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) Memphis coach Mike Norvell has tweeted that he has signed a contract extension with the Tigers.

Norvell tweeted on his verified Twitter account that he's ''so excited about the future of Memphis Tiger football and to announce that I have signed an extension to continue to lead this great program.'' His tweet didn't reveal details of the extension, but The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal reported that Norvell had agreed to a five-year deal worth a total of $13 million.

Memphis hasn't announced a Norvell extension.

Norvell owns an 18-7 record in two seasons at Memphis. The 19th-ranked Tigers are 10-2 this year and will face Iowa State on their home field in the Dec. 30 Liberty Bowl.
