Todd Pendland ran for three touchdowns and 187 yards for McNesse, and quarterback Derri Fourroux threw for 222 yards and a touchdown.
The Cowboys outrushed Texas State 250 yards to 95, but were slightly outgunned by the Bobcats 289 yards to 258.
Texas State’s Alvin Canady also rushed for three touchdowns. George threw for 285 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked twice.
