35-17 at halftime. Nicholls State (4-5, 1-3) rallied to within

35-27 in the third quarter but Lamar turned back-to-back-to-back

Lamar’s freshman rushing record (607 yards, 1951, Sammy Carpenter)

with 52 yards on 18 carries.

Nicholls State’s Dalton Hilliard Jr. had career bests of 111

yards rushing and two TDs since becoming a starter two weeks ago.
