DURHAM, N.H. (AP) Trevor Knight hit Neil O'Connor on a 76-yard scoring strike early in the fourth quarter to secure New Hampshire's 28-14 win over Rhode Island before a record crowd of 22,135 on Saturday.

Facing a third-and-11 from his own 24 with a one-point lead, Knight found O'Connor in the open and he sprinted in for the score. On their next series Knight passed to Malik Love from the 24 to go up 28-14 with 8:26 left. Knight hit Donald Goodrich on a 23-yard pass play to set up the scoring strike.

Knight, who threw for a career-high 420 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for another score for the Wildcats (3-1 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association). O'Connor had 232 yards receiving.

Rhode Island (1-3, 0-2) stalled in the fourth quarter as on the second play after Love's score Isiah Perkins intercepted Tyler Harris.
