Hoy, Robinson connect, lead Lamar over Houston Baptist 38-9

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Jordan Hoy threw a pair of touchdown passes to Case Robinson and Lamar rolled to a 38-9 victory over Houston Baptist on Saturday.

Hoy added 83 yards rushing on 12 carries and was 6-of-9 passing for 111 yards. Robinson finished with three catches for 88 yards.

Kirkland Banks ran for a 5-yard score in the first quarter for Lamar (6-4, 5-3 Southland Conference). Myles Wanza added for 88 yards rushing, including a 22-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Bailey Zappe was 28-of-49 passing for 238 yards and threw a touchdown pass and interception for Houston Baptist (1-9, 0-8). Jarreth Sterns had eight receptions for 107 yards.

Garrison Mitchell's 76-yard interception return set up a Hoy to Robinson 16-yard score a play later. Hoy added a 46-yard touchdown strike to Robinson late in the third quarter.
