Griz, Hauck pleased with recruiting class

(STATS) - Montana coach Bobby Hauck got a late start on the 2018 recruiting class, but he and his staff believe they closed well on a group that numbered 26 when it was unveiled Wednesday.

And, yes, they're keeping it in the Griz family quite well.

The sons of Hauck - Northern Arizona transfer safety Robby Hauck - and offensive line coach Chad Germer - Nick Germer - are part of the class as are four players from Glacier Wolfpack High in Kalispell, Montana, coached by former Griz Grady Bennett.

The first 15 members of the class signed during the new early period in December just three weeks after Hauck was hired for his second stint. He went 80-17 from 2003-09.

"We are very excited about this class, and I think our coaches did a great job putting it together," Hauck said. "We have a lot of Montana kids, a lot of size, and big frame guys. It was a good haul for us, and would lend you to say the future is bright for Grizzly football."

The class went heavy on the offensive side of the ball with 16 signees.

Defensive end Milton Mamula will be arriving from Pennsylvania. His father Mike Mamula was the No. 7 overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1995 NFL Draft.
