Which side of the rivalry will Eason play for?

With just over a month until the spring semester begins at both Florida and Georgia, five-star quarterback prospect Jacob Eason’s time to make a final decision is coming to an end.

Currently a UGA commit, Eason made headlines last week when he made an official visit to Florida in the wake of Mark Richt’s removal as head coach of the Bulldogs. The visit is said to have left quite the impression on the top prospect.

But Eason is still giving the Dawgs and new head coach Kirby Smart an opportunity to impress him, according to Dawg Nation. Smart recently flew to Washington to meet Eason and his family.

Smart has yet to name his offensive coordinator at Georgia, something Eason will certainly be keeping an eye on.

“Really liked him,” Eason said. “Always pretty professional and he was with Nick Saban at Alabama for forever. He’s got a good track record and resume and all of that stuff. So I’m excited.”

Eason is taking an official visit to Georgia before beginning preparations for the U.S. Army All-American game in January. The quarterback revealed his final decision is likely to come next week.

“I was just trying to figure out who they were going to hire and all that stuff and they got a good one,” Eason said. “We’ll wait to see who he gets at (offensive coordinator) and we will go from there.”

“It is pretty important. This is going to be the guy who is going to be working to get me to my full potential for the next four years. We are going to wait-and-see who they get and all that stuff before we make any big decisions. I’m sure he’s going to get a great guy in there so Georgia has got nothing to worry about.”
