Furman 62, Presbyterian 21

Chris Forcier threw seven touchdown passes to break the Furman

single-game record in a 62-21 victory over Presbyterian on

Saturday.

Five of the scoring passes came in the first half, when the

Paladins (2-1) opened a 48-14 lead over the Blue Hose (1-3).

Forcier, who completed 12 of 16 for 226 yards, also rushed for a

13-yard touchdown on the Paladins’ opening possession, which

started at the Presbyterian 19 after a fumble recovery. The senior

quarterback threw for scores of 13 yards to Cameron Mason and 39 to

Daniel McFadden to end the quarter with a 21-0 lead.

Forcier threw for four scores in the second quarter and

connected with McFadden for 20 yards and the receiver’s second

touchdown in the third quarter.

The previous Furman single-game record for touchdown passes was

five, by Hugh Swilling against Virginia Military Institute in 1991

and Jordan Sorrells against Wofford in 2009.
