Florida State defensive tackle Wilson out for rest of spring

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Florida State's Marvin Wilson will miss the remainder of spring practice because of a knee injury.

Coach Willie Taggart said before Wednesday's practice that the sophomore defensive tackle tore his MCL during practice last week.

Wilson was one of the top signings in last year's recruiting class and was expected to challenge for a starting spot. Taggart said he hopes Wilson can return in time for the start of the season, which is Sept. 3 against Virginia Tech.

Wilson played in 12 games last season and had seven tackles.
